Contemporary Modern III/IV

Mondays 6:30 to 8:00pm • 90 MINUTES

This 90 min class is for the more experienced dancer and is a style of dance that is a fusion of modern, ballet, and jazz traditions blended together in a athletic and expressive way. Classical lines, mixed with inversions, improvisation, and dance composition are explored in this class. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 12th to Dec 21st and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

Teen/Adult Open Level Ballet

(11 years-Adult)

Tuesdays 7:00PM to 8:30pm • 90 MINUTES

$150 for 10 punch card for Drop in class which can be applied to any of our 11 and up Fall dance classes!

This 90min class is a fall punch card class for ages 11 to adult. It concentrates on classical ballet training, the development of a strong understanding of French terminology and proper execution of the technical elements, all while ensuring proper alignment.  The standard ballet class sequence is cultivated with the development of technical strength, clarity, musicality, and artistry are explored.  This class is for students new to ballet or those that have experience! To attend this class please register for one of the punch card classes to purchase a 10 punch card for $150 which expires Dec 2020, or come to the studio to purchase a 10 punch card or to pay a single drop in class for $17.25. Although you are enrolling in a specific class to purchase the punch card online you can also attend any other punch card class over the fall (age applicable). Having problems registering? reVel Dance Ensemble

WEdnesdays 7:00 to 9:00PM • 120 MINUTES

This is a 2 hour class that meets once a week and is a non-audition based group that performs in outreach events for reVel dance center in and around Erie, and in 1-2 dance competitions during the spring (costs listed are only for tuition and not based on costume fees or competition fees). This Ensemble provides a feel for what a dance company is like by learning repertory pieces in Jazz, Contemporary, and Ballet, among other dance forms. The focus is to work together with support, rigor, and a sense of camaraderie. Please commit for the full Spring semesters to be a part of this ensemble. It is recommended, but not required, for the reVel Dance Ensemble to take Ballet III/IV Pre-Pointe/Pointe offered on and Thursdays to compliment and further their training. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 14th to Dec 18th.

Ballet III/IV Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Thursdays 6:00 to 7:30pm • 90 MINUTES

This class concentrates on classical ballet training, the development of a strong understanding of French terminology and proper execution of the technical elements, all while ensuring proper alignment. Familiarity with the standard ballet class sequence and respect for classroom etiquette are prerequisites. The cultivation of technical strength, clarity, musicality, flexibility and artistry are explored. Pirouettes in all positions, and increasingly difficult turning and jumping movements will be explored as the session progresses. A portion of the class is focused on developing the pre-requisite strength and awareness for Pointe Technique. This class may have a combination of dancers with soft shoes, Pre-Pointe, and on Pointe dancers with modifications given to suit the needs of the students.

Students will move up to Pointe shoes only at the discretion of the teacher once they have mastered the ballet basics and have developed the appropriate strength with the min. age of 11 yrs. old. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 17th to Dec 19th and the session ends with an informal in studio showing.

Musical Theatre & Jazz II/III

Thursdays 7:30 to 8:30pm • 60 MINUTES

This high-energy form of dance grounded in Jazz dance terminology and technique with an emphasis on musicality, athleticism and lots of fun! Using popular music and selections from Musicals, we explore rhythm, style, and performance elements found in Musical Theatre Dance and Jazz Dance Traditions. Singing along is not a requirement but is encouraged!) Students will strengthen their technical skills, flexibility, and versatility in this class. This class is perfect for dancers progressing from a Hip Hop & Jazz level I/II class Musical Theatre & Jazz I or who are new to dance and excited about growing as performers! This class will be performing in the recital at the end of the session in May or early June (recital date will be set as soon as possible). Registration is for the whole session from Aug 15th to Dec 19th and the session ends with an informal studio showing.

Ballet I/II

Fridays 4:30 to 5:45pm • 75 MINUTES

This 75min class concentrates on classical ballet training, the development of a strong understanding of French terminology and proper execution of the technical elements, all while ensuring proper alignment. The standard ballet class sequence is cultivated with the development of technical strength, clarity, musicality, flexibility and artistry are explored. This class is for students new to ballet or those that are returning to dance after a break and need a refresher course on the form. Registration is for the whole session from Aug 16th to Dec 20th and there is an informal in-studio showing at the end of the session.

Hip Hop & Jazz II

Fridays 5:45 to 6:45pm • 60 MINUTES

This class explores the fun and upbeat dance forms of hip-hop and jazz, performed to popular music. Learn more difficult high-energy hip-hop moves and dynamic and stylistic jazz dance choreography. There is a strong focus on rhythm and improvisation, as students develop strength, musicality, and confidence. Registration is for the whole session from Aug16th to Dec 20th and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

Technique Intensive

(Turns, Leaps, Extensions)

Saturdays 1:00 to 2:30pm • 90 MINUTES

Dance requires strength, flexibility, grace, coordination…among other skills!) In this 90 min class through a hybrid of different dance techniques such as Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary we focus on further developing each dancer's abilities. This class also incorporates Pilates, yoga, floor barre, resistance band exercises, and somatic approaches, to increase flexibility, strength, and the development of proper hip rotation. Dancers will develop proper balance and execution of turns, as well as develop the control and strength for optimal extensions. This class will help students take their dance training to a new level! This class will be performing in the recital at the end of the session in May or early June (recital date will be set as soon as possible). Registration is for the whole session from Aug 17th to Dec 21st and the semester culminates in an informal showing at the studio.

Teen/Adult Beginning Tap

(11 years to Adult)

Saturdays 2:45 to 3:45pm • 60 MINUTES

$150 for 10 punch card for Drop in class which can be applied to any of our 11 and up Fall dance classes!

This class is a 60min fall punch card class for beginners ages 11 years to adult. Students learn basic tap technique and terminology and put them together in exciting combinations using high-energy music.  Tap encourages the development of musicality and coordination. Please bring tap shoes to class with screws tightened as well as a water bottle to class. To attend this class please register for one of the punch card classes to purchase a 10punch card for $150 which expires Dec, 2020 or come to the studio to purchase a 10punch card or to pay a single drop in class for $17.25.
